Whose line is it anyway !?!

I did it again..Procrastinated! Mainly because i found alternative sources of wasting time i guess B-) Who needs a blog then? :P

Though this time what got me back to blogging were the recent events! The Mumbai terror attacks in specific...and all the drama surrounding it! The latter in fact left me dazed enough to delay writing this post or even think clearly for a while!@-)

Shock --At the nature of attacks, Disgust--At the total failure of the system and Anger --At the artificial concern displayed and shirking of responsibility by the politicians must be the dominant emotions that we all are feeling. But i feel that over and above everything else...there is a feeling of collective cripplement and total helplessness that is most depressing!

And, as if the attacks by themselves were not too much to handle..they were followed by a mass 'foot-in-the mouth' disorder by our political class! :-<

Quote Unquote: ^:)^

Shivraj Patil -Ex Home Minister (well supposedly :-B )--was the first to resign post the attack--just to save being thrown out anyway! :| And after resigning he says-- "Its a great burden off my shoulders!" WRONG! It is a great burden off OUR shoulders! The only "burden" that he carried anyway --must surely be the clothes that he wore and changed innumerable times to pose in front of the camera >:P

Pssstt...when i looked up Shivraj Patil's pics on google to upload here...the results that i got made me wonder whether it was a politician i was looking up :-s as they appear to be more outta a model's photo shoot...grrrr! L-)

RR Patil- Ex Dy CM Maharashtra-- "Bade bade shehron mein aisi choti choti baatein hoti rehti hai" --these lines when used by SRK in DDLJ endeared him to the audiences :> --but when something on extremely similar lines was said by our Dy CM describing the terror attacks in Mumbai--we knew which was the next head to be rolled!:-B

Achuthanandan- Kerela CM--Next in line is this great(?!) soul-- when rebuffed by the slain soldier Sandeep Unnikrishnan's father--goes on to say-- "If it wasn't Major Sandeep's house, even a dog wouldn't have gone that way" Some cool line this is! =D> And some respect for the slain soldier's memory and the family! @-)Couldn't have come at a more opportune moment i would say!>:P

Oh and last but definitely not the least was BJP Leader.. Mr. Naqvi-- with THE most useless and uncalled for comment of the year!! While commenting on the ongoing protests by the Mumbaikars against terror he says and i quote..

"Some women wearing lipstick and powder have taken to the streets in Mumbai and are abusing politicians, spreading disaffection against democracy"

/* Firstly there were male as well as female protesters--male more so! So god knows what is he talking about..And how the hell does it matter anyway ~x( /*

"This is what terrorists are doing in Jammu and Kashmir. Instead of saying 'Pakistan murdabad' (down with Pakistan), they are saying 'politicians murdabad' "

/* Ohhhhh YESSSSSS..sure this is EXACTLY what terrorists are doing in Kashmir!!! @-) What INSIGHT... i am IMPRESSED @-)/*

"These women have no faith in democracy and are similar to separatists who also worked with the same motive. There should be an inquiry into who these protesters are"

/* Now this is JUST what we need....=D> An inquiry into who these PROTESTERS are!!! :| ~x(I mean other issues like finding out who these TERRORISTS are or where have they come from or even the intelligence failures can be investigated later-- Right?!/*

And these are the people who represent US!! #-o Wheres the country headed :-ss

Seasons in the sun...Wished there were more than one :)

The most done to death concept in Apna Bollywood..
Boy Meets Gal!
Boy Likes Gal!
They fall Truly Madly Deeply in Love!
But But But... The Big Bad World is against them *Sigh*
Then they fight the world and get united..Yaaayyy!!
Live Happily Ever After... *Awwwww*
Happys Endings!

P.S. The Boy is Gal's "Pehla Pehla Pyaar" and vice versa..they havent even looked at or thought about anyone else ever...EVER!!! And how did they realise that they are "Made for Each Other"?

Simble!!!
Flutters in the stomach.. Eyes Glaze Over..Heart Beats Faster..The WORKS!

What an Idyllic World! *Time for another Awwwwww*

Now I cant claim to be a pundit on this subject! Huh, not by a long shot! But heres what I think happens most of the time..

The (love) story goes...

Boy Meets Gal!
Boy Likes Gal!
A Lot of Talk!
Little Laughs!
And as always, one ended up hurt. Why? How? By Whom?
Doesn't matter.

The point being, Relationships Fail.

No need for Pralay or Tsunamis or Devil's messengers to come along with Signboards for things to change . They just do. There isn't always an explanation, and rarely are justifications found.

Then starts the blame game, which according to me is nothing but a mechanism to ease the Guilt and Pain, which ever bothers you more!

And all this- the excitement, the confusion, the worry, the pain et all.. All of it happens in the name of the BIGGEST DELUSION in our lives--- LOVE!

A Delusion we have created for ourselves! I mean ..Face it folks, you know ZILCH about what the concept is. Neither do I for that matter, but heres what i think it IS NOT!

Is NOT two people having common interests, NOT people who are capable of having lengthy conversations with each other on anything under the sun, NOT those flutters you get in your stomach (that could just be plain constipation for all you know :P) or the anticipation of the other person's arrival and leap of your heart when the other person arrives or missing the other person when away. I mean Who is kidding Who !?!

The tragedy of romance has a romance of its own. The pain, the guilt, the turmoil and the emotional roller coaster that we go through--The bitter symphony of unrequited love-- Is more often than not an illusion that we have created to satisfy the void in our lives. This void might take different forms with different individuals but the bottom line remains the same--The folly of the mind to mix the "Nearest Possibility" with the "Real Thing" (Whatever that is :P)

I dont mean to be patronising nor do i intend to take up a 'holier than thou' stance on the issue.. All i want is for people to think before confusing mere attractions for epics of tragic unrequited love. To see through the thin line between fact and fiction (Can get real blurred at times ) and realise that assuming something for being far more than what it is/was will never change the truth of what it actually is/was. You might get your loyal sympathies and could mourn endlessly for the 'never-was' or the 'could have beens', which will only amount to being a life lived from behind the veil.

So Live Every Moment to the Fullest.. Coz Every Moment of Your Life is Once in a Lifetime :D

Psstt...True love comes quietly, without banners or flashing lights. If you hear bells, get your ears checked. ;;)

What’s the GOAL Vivek (Read: dude)??!!

To me it seemed like a 3 hour (was it that long? It sure did seem so!! ) saga of (blind, albeit misplaced) optimism!!!

I mean, we all just love an Indian (in this case an Asian) victory!!! But why can’t it be a tad bit realistic #-o ..Chak De was a SUPER attempt!
One cant really expect a team which was “hopeless” at its best, totally out of shape (what with all the athletic bodies :P ) in the initial 2 matches---to suddenly (miraculously) be on a roll and win ALL THE MATCHES (I need a tablet to aid digestion ;)) )---and lo and behold---There we are!!! Right at the top!!!
And the (by now-quite popular) song “Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal” was so…ummm should I call it “strategically placed” in the movie---between the initial matches and the semis!!!
Did the director actually hope that we would MISS the unrealistic victories @-) Or that a “naaice”, “feel good” song would ---JUSTIFY ---the unrealistic (if not downright shocking) victories??!! If YES, then TOUGH LUCK DUDE!!!
Though there were sum good “PARTS” in the movie---But then that’s what it is!!! Sum good shots here and there---sum good ideas here and there!!! But on the whole—it clearly depicts “gaps in the thought process” of the makers!!!
A lil more clear thinking, with a tad bit of realism would have done it for them!!!
After all they had all the right ingredients, one helluva concept—a game like soccer (which was wasted in this case :-< ), John (I can see the gals nodding ;;) )and the rest of it also was “not so bad” if handled well!!!
It can still pass off as a “ONE TIME WATCH” if you are totally in love with the game (The final few games are good—if you don’t question the “hows” of getting there) and for the gals there’s JOHN (Man—he sure is the top contender for the cutest dimples in the universe!!! =P~ )
P.S. Just as an after thought—if that song “Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal” really does have sum miraculous powers—the players of “Mohun Bagan” shud listen to it 24*7 :>
What say?? :> :> :>

Cheers!!!

A Lifetime of Regrets?!

A Smile..A Tear
A moment of fear..

A Ray of Hope
With loved ones near..

And there goes a day at a time..
One by One they fill a lifetime!

The more you reflect
On the days gone by..

The more you ponder
On the "If", "But" & "Why"

A lifetime of regrets, will it be?
When you do look back and see..
